Before starting an electrical installation, electricians must ensure that the work environment is free of voltage. A voltage tester is required to test alternating electrical fields or to locate suspected sources of error. A first indication of whether there is no voltage is possible with the non-contact Wiha voltage tester. If the sensor detects an AC voltage within a range of 4 mm, the tip lights up red. Two AAA (LR3) batteries are required for use, which are already inserted in the voltage tester on delivery. Thanks to its handy size, the voltage tester with a clip fits comfortably in every shirt and trouser pocket. The single-pole voltage tester is subject to the IEC 61010-1 standard and is designed for CAT III 1,000 VAC.
